General Information
I'm a friendly, outgoing government accountant -- I know, it
sounds like an oxymoron! I'm pretty high energy, keep
busy/active and seem to always have projects around the
house going. I love the outdoors, since I'm stuck indoors
so much on my job. My first love as far as activities is
kayaking, but really like rafting. I'm a novice skier
striving to improve after a fall caused a knee replacement.
I like anything to do with water activities and being
outdoors, camping and exploring small towns in Oregon and
Washington, and also really enjoy good movies--no chick
flix. Recently discovered "quadding" and had to run out and
get a Can Am Renegade 500 and modify a trailer to get to
Brown's Camp, etc. (Can't back that trailer up, yet,
though.) Betweeen work, home and outdoor activities I
really don't have any hobbies. No pets, crafts, beading,
knitting, or anything that could be considered artsy,
artistic or creative. I think that side of my brain is
seriously lacking.

Appearance
I'm 5' 5" and height-weight proportionate -- i think ;) I'm
blonde with green eyes and my style would be considered
casual; even though I think I clean up pretty good and have
been known to dress appropriately for the occasion. I'm not
preppy, or classy, glitzy or glamorous, just try to be real
and have fun. Love to dance.

Looking for
I'm looking for someone with whom to share my love of
life--from the fun, active, romantic and special times, to
the everyday hanging out, chatting, bbq's, listening to
music and discussing each other's day with. I have a pretty
hectic or busy life and am looking for someone who is also
busy but is willing for both of us to make time to be with
each other as much as possible. I hope to find someone to
share the activities I've mentioned and others that I may
not have tried yet. I'd like to meet a man who likes to
imbibe but doesn't smoke; who I hope is bright, interested
in what is going on in the world, isn't afraid to share
thoughts or feelings, and enjoys traveling either near or
far when we can. Being affectionate, intelligent and
articulate, interesting, and easy to be around are factors
that are much more important to me than looks or appearance.

Where would you want to go on a 3rd date and what gift would impress you?   Camping--combined with some type of activity: swimming, kayaking, rafting, boating, or quadding with someone skilled in outdoor activities, like building a fire, and setting up camp. I\'m not typically impressed with gifts of \'things\'--I prefer to get and give gifts of activities or opportunities to try an adventure. But planning and organizing a camping trip or an excursion to the coast or somewhere, without much planning or prep on my part would be a huge, very impressive gift.
Sometimes we need to compromise in a relationship; what are you not willing to compromise?   I\'m not willing to compromise honesty, integrity, values, real intimacy or sharing quality time together--while having some personal space as well.
Who do you admire most and why?   My closest grandson is my hero. Although only 15, he is emotionally honest under extreme hardship and duress and hangs in there through thick and thin; he is extremely loyal, honest and direct. He communicates clearly and concisely and cuts right to the chase. He takes a great deal of pride in the appearance and comfort of his person and his home and is very protective of his disabled mother. He handles an incredible amount of responsibility with only a very understandable amount of resentment or ocassional anger with a difficult person who has absolute power over him. Besides, he\'s good-looking, really smart and cool, too!
What are you the most proud of?   What I\'ve accomplished in my life, although there are certainly a lot of things I would have done differently had I known. But coming from somewhat lowly beginnings and having been a teenage single parent to having raised a family, partially raising a grandchild, having been a high-school drop out to becoming a CPA with a great job and prepared for a financially stable, comfortable retirement. But mostly for learning to take risks and how tohave lots of fun in recent years, particularly by overcoming my fear of heights.
What is your fondest memory of childhood?   Visiting family friends in Southern California sometimes in the summeer for a couple of weeks and spending 8 or 10 hours a day at the beach jumping waves in warm water and having to be forced out of the water to eat a hot, sandy tuna sandwich--all the while dying to get back to in the water--and having to wait that whole hour after I ate to be able to return.
If you were to die tomorrow, would you have any regrets?   Yes; I would have completed school and established a solid career before having children. One of my children was an exceptionally difficult child and adult child -- I enabled and indulged her way beyond the bounds of reason.
What do you want to do before you die?   Experience true love, real intimacy and mutually trust enough to be wholly honest with each other.
If you won a $5 million lottery ticket, what would you do with it?   Lordy, lordy, retire, pay off my mortgage, help one of my grown sons who could use a little help financially (the other one doesn\'t), set up trusts for my grandkids (and great grandaughter who lives down the street on my block), obviously would want to do something charitable or philanthropic, but would need to give that some serious thought. For sure, I would donate heavily to the domestic violence shelter(s) in Washington County and to the school in Multnomah County for homeless children and the bus that goes around and picks them up every day, no matter where they are and takes them to school, where they are provide all their supplies, books, etc.
If you could take 3 classes what would they be and why?   Motorcycle riding, gun handling and shooting, bicycle riding and maintenance, whitewater kayaking because I flatwater and moving water kayak already, but I can\'t surf kayak or whitewater kayak and haven\'t mastered \"the roll\"; I like to go plinking, and I am pretty good on my ATV, but have a \"beast\" of a dirt bike that I\'d like to at least give a try (if I could keep it running--Craiglist fiasco).
If you could go back in time what would you do differently?   While I think superficially, I would have made a lot of different choices along the way; the truth is that I\'m pretty happy with who and where I am today -- and that is all a product of not only the good decisions but the less wise ones that I had to deal with the consequences of, too.
What have you done in the last year to improve your health?   Tried very hard to learn to work to live rather than to live to work; worried less and played more. I\'ve been very active for many years, but started working out again after taking a hiatus after a knee replacement.
What makes you cry?   My grown daughter\'s brain aneurysm and seizures and subsequent stroke made me cry. Otherwise, sad, sweet, sappy movies that I rarely watch; some books.
What did you learn from your past relationship that will help you in your next relationship?   Acknowledge the handwriting on the wall sooner and not live in denial, thinking things would improve if I just tried harder.
What do you think is the most important characteristic of someone you like to spend time with?   Humor, the ability to relax and laugh together, acceptance of one another\'s foibles, while retaining respect for one another.
What would people say are your most positive attributes?   Completing what I set out to do, no matter how long it may take; exceptionally hard-working, goal oriented, dependable; and, the willingness to live life to fullest extent possible, with humor and lightness of heart.
What would people say are your most negative attributes?   Too willing to put others\' needs ahead of my own; working too hard and long; and I do like to imbibe.
What are the three most important things you want us to know about you?   I\'m no couch potato, even though I do love to watch certain weekly TV shows and relax in the living room on work nights; I love to experience the small towns and backwater places of Oregon and Washington; I enjoy simple pleasures like watching the Oregon night sky -- ever changing and beautiful.
How many children do you have?   3-4
